Went to quaboag this morning, got on in front of ramp. i cut a hole and got 3.5 inches, the ice not hard i can get through in 2 wacks.
I checked out a little further and the same thing. the shore is open on the west side and open water on the beach to the left of the parking lot.
I didn’t see any holes on the main lake , but paul z said there was open water sunday, i don’ want to take a chance on the new soft ice.
Pressure ridge is forming in front of the ramp and looks like it is heading to the right, it may cut off the launch on the right shoreline.
hope the ice holds and we may get cold weather to firm it up.
Randy Rice found ice at Levitts Beach on Lake Winnipesaukee and scouted it yesterday. Reports will come in later today. There are other scattered reports over the weekend and it is going to be very cold in a couple of days.
We are in the middle of the 2023 Season. Yes, I know we have hardly begun and most of us have zero ice time at this point but there is plenty of winter time to play. Let’s all remember to share any information. Whether it’s a place to sail or whether you are going to sail somewhere.

Word from Randy Rice this morning. Wini is mostly open but for a few of the bays. If the wind stays down with the pending cold something could happen.
