I’m an experienced (re: old) sailor that just obtained a “vintage” DN. Spruce mast/boom, plywood hull, “Kenneth A Nelson” sail. The sail number is “2013”. Wondering if anyone could hazard a guess for the boat’s age based upon the sail number? The boat has been unused for over 10 years but appears complete shy a broken top batten (anyone have a spare?). The b […]
Hi! My name is Reid and I’m a freshman on the Northeastern University sailing team. I’m from California where there is no ice sailing, and since moving out here for college, I’ve always wanted to try it. I could drive out to Quaboag Pond tomorrow (2/17). Is there anyone who could show me the ropes and let me use a boat for a little while?
In reply to capcass. The reports from yesterday were not complete and must be scouted more thoroughly. It really needs a few days of below freezing to seal things up. We are getting that but it has only been 24 hrs. Frankly, I am cautiously optimistic but at this time can not recommend traveling any distance. Let’s see Maybe Monday. John

Before you pack up the boats for the summer have a look at this and see if you might want to re-purpose those old roller blades. Jones Beach land sailors take note! https://www.facebook.com/groups/432333643482302/permalink/2847250881990554/
In reply to Stan york. Stan, I didn’t know Sonny as I only entered the realm of ice boating this past season. But I’ve already come to enjoy the fellowship that seems to exist within this relatively small circle. So guessing based on your name that you are either a brother or son to Sonny, I thought I’d just jump in and extend my condolences on your loss. Th […]

We are doing a shop clean out and the old Hull tools aren’t making the cut. They are looking for a new home. These are Jeff Kent’s second generation of female hull tools. There is a third generation that we are keeping. The bottom tools are split to be able to release without draft. The deck tool has the racks molded in. The link below has pictures. https:// […]
