I sailed my wing and skates yesterday with four DN’s and a Viking. The wind came up around 2pm and everyone was having fun.
The hazards are about 2/3 if the way across to the shore opposite the ramp. They show up as a line of dark ice. There are what appear to be open spots along this line. Yesterday the DN crew placed a windward mark out toward this band of questionable ice.
This is gray ice, very smooth, but bound to soften up some this afternoon. Also bear in mind that the sailable plate is limited on area, so sail with caution.

  3. Beware of any unmarked hazards Sunday…Quaboug has a reputation because of the river that flows through it…Far shore far left shore and far right shore all have areas that could be hazard you just never know.. …Safety rope and picks a must today SundayDec 22….Also there is a hunk of a log in the 2 oclock position as you look out from the launch site…The log is about 300 yards from the launch..Its frozen into the ice…..BBF

Sailed Quaboag yesterday. Great sheet of ice. Be extraordinarily vigilant as there is a long open river meandering the majority of the far shore. Bring some water safety gear just in case. Awls for sure. I can’t sail today : )
